As per usual, tons of great music being performed all around our fair City of Angels this weekend, so much so, in fact, that you’ll probably want to start planning for it now. Check out just a few of your options below, and let me know in the comments where you’ll be dancing/swaying/head-bopping this weekend.

The Hives @ The Wiltern – September 14th, 2012

LAmb writer Lesley will be heading out to see the Hives tomorrow night for their first show in LA since Coachella 2012. Aside from that festival and a single show at the Glass House in between both Coachella weekends, The Hives hadn’t been in Los Angeles since 2008, so who knows when you’ll next have a chance to catch the Swedish garage rockers in SoCal. Tickets for the KROQ-presented event are still available.

Brian Setzer Orchestra @ The Hollywood Bowl – September 14th, 15th, and 16th

If you’re looking for somewhere to shake, rattle, and roll this weekend, Brian Setzer Orchestra will be bringing the swing to the Hollywood Bowl for three nights of shows starting tomorrow night. The group’s big band style, complete with blazing horns, will undoubtedly chase away any lingering work-week blues, and the promise of the Bowl’s “fireworks finale” display certainly won’t dampen the mood. Tickets to all three shows are currently still available.

Pretty Lights and DJ Shadow @ Shrine Auditorium – September 15th

If the bright lights of a fireworks display aren’t your thing, maybe Pretty Lights will be. The outlet of innovative electronic music producer Derek Vincent Smith, Pretty Lights is currently on the road as part of the “The Illumination Tour,” during which Smith will be previewing material from his forthcoming album to the delight of dance-crazed crowds across the country. With support from hip-hop inspired DJ Shadow, this is definitely a not-to-be-missed event for EDM fans, and tickets are still available.
