Great news for fans of metal and/or justice: Randy Blythe, lead vocalist for Lamb Of God, has been freed from the Czech Republic! According to organizers for KNOTFEST, Blythe is now on a flight back to the United States and he and the rest of Lamb of God will be making their first performance since his imprisonment at the two-date metal and hard rock festival!
The event is being held August 17th – 18th in the good ol’ Midwest, with Friday’s events taking place at the Mid America Motorplex in Council Bluffs, IA, and then Saturday’s at the Somerset Amphitheater in Somerset, WI/Minneapolis, MN. Knotfest organizers are taking a page from the EDM festival circuit by creating a full-on experience for attendees, transforming the event grounds into an apocalyptic underworld with firebreathers, nightmarish creatures on stilts, plenty of fire and percussive light, and other stunning visuals.
“We are honored to present Lamb of God and thrilled to learn that Randy will be onstage for what is sure to be an amazing moment at Knotfest,” Knotfest organizers said. In addition to the exciting inclusion of Lamb of God in the lineup, Knotfest will also include performances by Slipknot (duh), Deftones, Machine Head, Serj Tankian, Cannibal Corpse, The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Urge, Prong, Gojira and more.
Knotfest tickets are on-sale now at ridiculously reasonable rates, with several VIP options available as well. If you can’t make the trip out, the festival is streaming live via a pay-per-view option, which will also include behind-the-scenes footage.
