I continually get bombarded by new music. A new band just released something, a new artist is playing here…it’s really easy to forget the bands and artists that have been around for decades and have just released something remarkable, so to give them their proper due, here are the Top 10 Comeback Releases of the year. I was personally super surprised about some of the artists and bands from the ’70s and ’80s – I think you will be surprised too!

10. Jennifer Lopez – Love?
True, J-Lo released an album only four years ago, but do you remember any of the songs from that release? I don’t. This time around, she comes back super strong with “On the Floor,” which I think must have been played on the radio a thousand times a day since hitting the airwaves. She also still looks fabulous, but you knew that already. Here’s the video for the other hit single on the album, “Papi.”

9. Beastie Boys – Hot Sauce Committee Part II
This group also released their last album just four years ago, but unlike their previous efforts, this one is full of “filthy, dirty, nasty music” (those were their words). Wait, actually, I think that their other albums were also filled with filthy, dirty, nasty music. Oh, well! Check out their hilarious video for “Make Some Noise.”

8. Bush – The Sea of Memories
Has it really been 10 years since Gavin’s released something? Wow, time flies super fast, doesn’t it? Or maybe I’m just trying to deny the fact that Bush’s last album came out when I was a senior year in high school. Anyway, this new album is still true to the band’s classic, alternative rock sound. If you were a Bush fan, I am happy to let you know that you can continue to be a Bush fan. Yeah, I guess I can admit that I am one too. Check out their video for “The Sound of Winter.”

7. The Human League – Credo
No freaking way. The ’80s revival is back and stronger than ever. Our favorite guy-girl-girl trio has released an electro pop album that’s fun to listen and dance to! Check out their creepy but groovy electro video for “Never Let Me Go.”

6. Roxette – Charm School
I was crazy about Roxette’s 1987 hit song “It Must Have Been Love,” so I was psyched that they released an album this year. Yes, filled with electro pop goodness from the glorious ’80s (are you feeling the love I have for this era yet??). Check out their video for “She’s Got Nothing On (But the Radio).”

5. Yes – Fly From Here
This new release is the band’s 20th studio album. You would think these guys would call it a day by now, but no can do for these progressive rockers. I couldn’t find a music video for any of Yes’ new songs, but I did find this cool video about the making of the new album!

4. Stevie Nicks – In Your Dreams
This beautiful lady never runs out of beautiful things to say, and I was thrilled when I found out she released an album this year. I love her pensive country song and accompanying video for the track “For What it’s Worth.”

3. Aqua – Megalomania
Yeah, you heard right. The band who released “Barbie Girl” in 1997 is back and still as dance-pop as ever. Check out their provocative song “Like A Robot.”

2. Paul Simon – So Beautiful or So What
Can you believe he is still rocking out at 70 years old?!! Thank you, Paul Simon, for continuing to make awesome music with those fantastic world elements. Check out his live performance of “So Beautiful or So What” at our very own Music Box.

1. The Cars – Move Like This
I am soooo curious to know what prompted this legendary ’80s band to reconvene to release an album after 24 years. Well, whatever the reason, it was worth the wait. The album is a perfect blend of pop and rock. Check out their upbeat (despite the title) video for the track “Sad Song.”
