To coincide with a nationwide tour promoting their rather fantastic debut album, Wild Flag has released the following promo video for album highlight “Electric Band.” As part of the tour, the band will be playing two dates at the Troubadour in Los Angeles next Wednesday and Thursday (November 2nd/3rd).
Wild Flag released their debut album to some very well deserved acclaim on September 13th, acclaim all the more impressive considering the weight on the band members’ CVs. After all, Wild Flag contains two members (Carrie Brownstein and Janet Weiss) of the now-defunct Sleater-Kinney, one of THE great indie rock bands, and one of the rare cases of a band that broke up while the going was still good. Whereas lesser men (and women) would have been happy to settle for that band’s awesome discography, Carrie and Janet have forged ahead and created another album of strutting, pop-inflected rock loveliness.
The video itself is a gem. It’s also proof of the previously unknown formula for a great music video: Bears + Baseball.
