The following video just confirms what we already knew: the loss of Amy Winehouse’s talent is an absolute tragedy. Yesterday, on what would have been the artist’s 28th birthday, the track and video for the long-awaited Amy Winehouse and Tony Bennett duet “Body and Soul” premiered in its entirety.

Recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, “Body and Soul” is the final recording Winehouse made before her passing on July 23rd. The recording session was filmed by Oscar-winning cinematographer Dion Beebe (Chicago, Memoirs Of A Geisha) as part of a documentary on Bennett, and in the video, Amy seems happier and healthier than in any other video I’ve seen of her in years. Again, it’s such a tragic loss.

All proceeds from the sale of the “Body and Soul” single and video will go to The Amy Winehouse Foundation. Founded by the artists’ parents, Mitch and Janis Winehouse, the organization’s mission is to provide support for young people struggling with ill health, disability, financial disadvantage, or addiction.

You can download your copy of the single now on iTunes, and this Tuesday marks the release of Tony Bennett’s new album, Duets II, which features the Winehouse duet as well as others with Lady Gaga, Carrie Underwood, John Mayer, Sheryl Crow, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, and more.
