I swear, I don’t think Fitz and the Tantrums has stopped touring since before they released their Dangerbird Records full-length debut, Pickin’ Up The Pieces, back in January. Don’t these people ever get tired? Just watching their show at El Rey back in January exhausted me, the way frontmen frontpeople Fitz and Noelle worked that stage, clapping and dancing throughout the entire set…if it weren’t for all their soul, I’d swear Fitz and the Tantrums were music-making robots!
Last week FATT released a free download of a live version of their song “Don’t Gotta Work It Out” off the aforementioned debut, which is sure to end up on my year-end “Best of” list. If you don’t already have a copy of Pickin’ Up The Pieces, you don’t know what you’re missing…but for just $6.99, you can! From now until July 18th, the album will be available for download on iTunes for the price of a venti mocha at Starbucks. Just this week it peaked at #8 on the iTunes U.S. Pop charts, so forgo today’s frappuccino and pick yourself up ten tracks of Motown-influenced goodness instead.
