I started pillaging my parents’ extensive vinyl collection before I hit my teens, and I distinctly remember one of my favorite records featuring a blonde in a white dress towering over a city with her five suit-clad companions. This Best of Blondie album was my introduction into the world of Debbie Harry, and I nearly wore down the needle on my second-hand record player listening to its tracks over and over. Almost 3 decades since that album’s release, Blondie is still going strong and will be hitting the stage at Los Angeles’ Club Nokia!
The band—now comprised of original members Harry, Clem Burke, and Chris Stein and new additions Leigh Foxx, Tommy Kessler and Matt Katz-Bohen—is sure to play old favorites such as “One Way Or Another,” “Heart Of Glass,” “Rapture,” and “Call Me,” but they’ll also be promoting their 9th studio album, Panic of Girls, which is set for release September 13 via the band’s own imprint. The tour kicks off September 4th with the group hitting LA on October 5th. Tickets go on sale tomorrow and will run you anywhere from $40 to $65 depending on your level of VIP-ness.
If you’re on the fence about buying tix and need a reminder of why Blondie is awesome, just press play!
