Warped Tour LEAD

The Van’s Warped Tour has been my favorite festival since I attended my first one over a decade ago (man, I’m getting old), and the 2011 incarnation is looking to be one of the best in the tour’s 17-year history. Already boasting record numbers of attendees its opening weekend, Warped 2011 features the most eclectic line-up to date, with nearly every genre imaginable represented (punk, rock, metal, hip-hop, rap, indie-rock, electronic, alt-country, dubstep, reggae, folk-punk, pop…). Warped is truly a music-lover’s paradise, and this year, the tour coordinators are going the extra mile to ensure that it’s a paradise where everyone stays safe and happy (i.e., more like Gilligan’s Island and less like Lord of the Flies).

In an industry first, Warped has partnered with Klean Kanteen to provide unlimited free filtered-water refilling stations at every date on the tour. That’s filtered water, folks. No well-water for Warped fans! Patrons can fill up any cup at the stainless steel stations as much as they need throughout the day, and the tour also worked with venues and promoters on every stop to lower the price of bottled water to $3.00. No excuse to get dehydrated in that mosh pit this year!

You can check out the full list of bands playing each date at the Warped Tour website, but here are the artists who will be hitting the Pomona show this Friday (pick up tix here):
