The Bronx‘s alter-ego, Mariachi El Bronx, will release their second full-length offering, Mariachi El Bronx (II), on August 2nd through ATO Records. For the outing, the group has once again teamed up with co-producer John Avila, former bassist of Oingo Boingo. The album was recorded over Christmas and New Year’s at Avila’s studio, Brando’s Paradise, in San Gabriel, CA.

In anticipation of the release of Mariachi El Bronx (II), the band has announced an extensive summer touring schedule routed through many international festivals, two nights of the “Dave Matthews Band Caravan,” and an intimate performance with the Flaming Lips. In addition, the band will also head out in support of the Foo Fighters on September 14th.

If you haven’t had the chance to catch Mariachi El Bronx live, NPR is currently streaming their entire performance from the 2011 Sasquatch festival on May 27th.
