Metal Blade Records has been on a roll this year with impressive releases from Amon Amarth, Pentagram, and Between the Buried and Me. But one of the label’s most surprising offerings came in the form of mysterious Swedish band Ghost’s debut album, Opus Eponymous.
The psychedelic metal act emerged on the scene in 2010 following the release of their single, “Elizabeth.” After delivering their full-length debut earlier this year, the band took the world by storm with their unique blend of classic rock hooks and retro sentiment.
Following their highly anticipated round of U.S. promotional performances last week at Maryland Deathfest in Baltimore (fan-filmed footage can be seen below) and Webster Hall in New York, the band announced their first full North American tour this fall with support from Enslaved and French metallers Alcest. The three week stint will kick off September 23rd in Virginia before making its way to The Troubadour on October 14th.
