In honor of the one-year anniversary of their third full-length effort, The Suburbs, Arcade Fire is set to rerelease a deluxe CD/DVD version of the acclaimed album, which won the Grammy for “Album of the Year” in 2010. On the deluxe CD version of The Suburbs, fans will be able to hear a longer version of the song “Wasted Hours (A Life That We Can Live),” as well as the previously unreleased tracks “Culture War” and “Speaking In Tongues.”
Arcade Fire recently rerecorded a version of “Wake Up” for the Spike Jonze-directed film Where The While Things Are, and the DVD portion of the rerelease includes Scenes From The Suburbs, a half-hour short film directed by Jonze. The short premiered at SXSW and has been hammered with great reviews ever since.
Along with the short film, fans will also receive a companion documentary, Behind The Scenes From The Suburbs and the music video for the track “The Suburbs.” If that wasn’t enough, the package also includes an exclusive booklet featuring lyrics and 80 pages of photos taken during the Scenes From The Suburbs film shoot.
Though the album doesn’t come out until August 2, fan can preorder the CD/DVD Scenes From The Suburbs from Merge Records.
