Stoner-rock pioneers Sleep have just announced three very special shows for their North American fans, including a stop at the Wiltern in LA this June! This appearance, as well as their June 22nd show in New York, will bookend a set at the Sled Island Music & Arts festival in Calgary, AB where the band will be sharing the stage with The Dandy Warhols, Blonde Redhead, The Buzzcocks, and more.

These shows follow the band’s highly anticipated return in 2009, more than a decade after their split back in 1997. After performing at the UK’s All Tomorrow’s Parties and The Fans Strike Back festivals, their high demand led to a short, 9-date US trek late last year, which immediately sold out.

Sleep tour dates:

June 22, 2011 – New York, NY @ Terminal 5
June 24, 2011 – Calgary, AB @ Sled Island Music & Arts Festival
June 26, 2011 – Los Angeles, CA @ The Wiltern

After forming in 1990 in San Jose, California, Sleep disbanded at the tail end of the decade following creative differences with their label, London Records. The band members went on to form Om, High on Fire, and most recently, the mighty Shrinebuilder.
