Lets face it–the Melvins rule. And nearly 30 years since their formation, the band continues to release some of the most bizarrely captivating music of our generation.
Starting 2011 off on the right foot, the band has just announced plans to perform all four Friday’s throughout January at Spaceland in Silverlake. Each night will boast a different set with featured albums and special guests, including a 1983 incarnation with Mike Dillard.
Melvins Residency Sets:
January 7 – Melvins set (current line-up performing songs from Colossus of Destiny); Lysol and Eggnog records in their entirety
January 14 – Melvins 1983 (Buzz, Dale, and Mike Dillard); Melvins set (current line-up performing normal set) and Houdini in its entirety
January 21 – “Melvins Lite” (Buzz & Dale only); Melvins set (current line-up performing normal set) and Bullhead in its entirety
January 28 – Melvins set (current line-up performing normal set) and Stoner Witch in its entirety
The band’s most recent release, The Bride Screamed Murder, will be on sale at the show in a limited edition vinyl version, with each handcrafted album featuring detachable artwork from one of ten different artists.
