There are times in the history of music that comes along a piece of upmost social significance, and one of these moments has to be Darren Criss’ rendition of “Teenage Dream” on last week’s episode of Glee. Apart from tackling the issue of bullying in schools, the episode went on to feature Darren singing the song to Glee’s resident glamazon Kurt.

Glee - Teenage Dream

These taboos apparently have little to no significance to America with the song taking the #1 spot on iTunes Singles chart on Friday. What’s also important about this particular scene is the fact this all-boys school (with students who are both straight and gay) supports this artistic craft. I commend Ryan Murphy and Fox for so openly and positively showing the world a point of view that doesn’t view the arts as an inherent negative and allowing the beautifully toned Darren Criss the opportunity to share this rendition of the song with the world.
