You might have heard of them by now through their YouTube videos “Zef Side” or “Enter the Ninja,” but if not, there is still time to jump on the Die Antwoord bandwagon before it picks up its pace.

Coming from Cape Town, South Africa, this three piece comprised of Ninja (AKA Watkin Tudor Jones), Yo-Landi Vi$$er, and DJ Hi-Tek is making waves in the viral video world and quickly gaining interest (it’s even rumored the band has been picked up by Interscope). The group is definitely something you won’t hear every day, and they have some of the craziest lyrics put over the most simplistically genius beats. On top of the music being something completely different, so is the band’s look….this one is hard to explain so I will just let the picture do the talking:

Die Antwoord

Die Antwoord “self-identifies as a melange of several diverse cultures all mixed into one” and performs what would be known as Zef rap, “Zef” being an Afrikaans term that is loosely translated in English to mean “redneck.” Believe me though, as someone originally from Kentucky, these guys are nowhere close to being redneck! I guess the best way to explain the band is to let them do it themselves through their new video “Zef Side.” Check it out and let us know your thoughts.
