The Blink-182 Reunion Tour will be playing it’s second to last show at the Palladium on October 10th! After a few years of separation, Blink-182 decided to regroup and play some music! If you are older than 12, I’m sure would love to say they went to the Blink-182 Reunion Tour…unless you are one of those ’80s types. 7fpnhjym4q
This is a great line up and definitely not a show you would want to “catch ‘em the next time around”.

I’ll be the first to admit I’m something of a junkie for words. Each album review I write begins with the insertion of a CD and the opening of a lyric book. I like to follow along with each track as the artist takes me on a verbal journey. Halfway through listening to Anna Ternheim’s third release, “Leaving on a Mayday,” however, I realized that I could lay the booklet down and just enjoy the ride. The Swedish songstress’ pristine vocals are crystal clear and direct, leaving no room for any of those annoying “kiss this guy” lyrical misinterpretations, but plenty of space for the album’s gorgeous string arrangements and mesmerizing percussion.
Something to Burn is going to be at The Roxy this Friday, October 2nd! Signed to Softdrive Records (owned by STP’s Scott Weiland), Something to Burn recently put out a new album and performed at The Viper Room during the Sunset Strip Music Festival. They have a driving vibe and they definitely have a lot of energy. Go to their Myspace to hear some of their songs, I would recommend checking out ‘Say Goodbye’. You can also check out Scott Weiland interviewing them to promote their new album!
Something to Burn will be taking the stage at 10:30 PM. For more information visit the events page at The Roxy.
If a Quentin Tarantino movie were to somehow breed with the 1980s goth/psychedelic rock scene to form a band, it would come out sounding something like A Place to Bury Strangers. Having been affectionately dubbed, “New York’s LOUDEST band” by various publications, these boys refuse to be passed by. Just ask Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor; he dug the boys so much he took them on tour.
I am euphoric. It’s finally happened. My eyes have been opened into the world of love. I do have to admit I was a little bit apprehensive when I was given the new Sick Puppies album, “Tri-Polar.” I am generally weary of anything associated with WWE—not that it’s a bad institution; just not my thing—but Sick Puppies have now opened my black little heart, slapped me in the face for being closed minded, and I am now in need of more.
Pop idol Kylie Minogue, a favorite on the charts of our friends across the pond, has come to the USA for her first ever North American Tour. Although a short tour, the 6 performances she has lined up will be something well worth seeing. Kylie can promise a high energy show and a lot of fun!

Jason Mraz is coming to the Hollywood Bowl on October 10th and it’s definitely a show you don’t want to miss. If you have never seem him live you should certainly take this opportunity to do so. Jason Mraz connects with the audience, puts on a great show and doesn’t just repeat what you’ve heard on the radio. Any guy who walks out on stage barefoot with an acoustic guitar is bound to put on a good show.

For an artist who grew up in the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles, Robert Francis sure knows how to channel the wide-open spaces of middle America. At nineteen years of age, Francis wrote and produced his debut album, One by One, which quickly earned him recognition as one of the great up-and-coming folk artists. Soon after, he signed a record deal with Atlantic Records and will be releasing his highly anticipated follow-up album, Before Nightfall, on October 20th . Francis was kind enough to answer a few questions for LA Music Blog’s readers about his influences, what it was like growing up in a house full of musicians, and his musical connection to Flea.
